About us
Greetings! We at St Andrew are Orthodox Christians, worshiping according to the ancient Western Rite practiced by the early Christians in the West for the first 1,000 years of Christianity. We are canonical (mainline) Orthodox in the Antiochian Patriarchate headquartered in Damascus, Syria, under His Beatitude Patriarch John X, and in the self-ruled Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America under His Eminence Metropolitan Joseph.

Who is our Priest/Pastor?

Our priest is the Very Rev. Father Cassian (Kenneth) Dunlop who has been serving this parish since July, 1998. He was originally ordained in an Anglo-Catholic diocese in 1989 after completing seminary at St Joseph of Arimathea Anglican Seminary in Berkley, California and has served parishes in Washington, D.C. and Anderson, S.C. as an Anglican priest. In 1994 the parish in Anderson agreed to investigate Orthodox Christianity and converted a year later. Fr. Cassian was ordained briefly to the Deaconate and then to the Priesthood in 1995 in the Antiochian Archdiocese of North America. He served in Anderson until he was assigned to this parish in 1998.
What is our worship like?
Many of the Antiochian Orthodox churches use the Byzantine Rite liturgy, Middle Eastern in style. Our parish is one of about 10% of the Antiochian parishes who use the Western Rite, traditional Episcopalian/Roman Catholic in style and fully Orthodox Christian in content. The order of the service is Western and familiar to Americans from liturgical churches, our choir sings simple Gregorian chant for the propers, and the congregation sings Western hymns (i.e Love Divine All Loves Excelling, Be Thou My Vision, Away in a Manger, etc.).

Where are we located?

Our church is located in Eustis, Florida about halfway between Ocala and Orlando, in an easy to find location on Hwy 19 ( South Bay Street) just a couple of blocks north from the bridge over Hwy 441.
Feel free to browse our web site. We would love for you to join us for worship and welcome you to call or email us with questions anytime. God's blessings! Come pray and worship God with us!
